CHEAP DATE NIGHT IDEAS

When you’re trying your best to save up money – a lot of the time your entertainment fund takes a huge blow. Which can make it tough on a marriage – no doubt about it. But, when it comes to cutting your entertainment budget for your date nights your marriage doesn’t need to suffer in the process. There’s plenty of things that you can do as a couple together for cheap or free! Here’s a list of things that you can do that won't break the bank!

CHEAP DATE NIGHT IDEAS
  1. Have a staycation – stay at home and don’t leave the house the whole day. Don’t do any chores and treat your home as you would a hotel. This will give you and your spouse time to relax and rest without thinking about how much this trip is costing you.

  2. Build a blanket fort in your living room – talk about cute! This one will make your spouse smile for sure.

  3. Pitch a tent in your own backyard – If you both love camping but can’t afford the fees, food, and other miscellaneous items that go with it. Why not pitch a tent in your own backyard? You have the comforts of home and the experience of camping.

  4. Take a stroll in your downtown area and only buy dessert–

  5. Take a drive around parts of your neighborhood that you’ve never driven down before

  6. Go on a walk together around your neighborhood – talk about your days and get outside of the normal routine. This gives you an intimate moment with your spouse.

  7. Take a hike – it’s free and it’s a great way to just have some one on one time where you’re not distracted by life. Take this time to talk to one another.

  8. Go to a gallery opening – If you love art as much as I do – this is a really fun one for me. Granted, it’s not for everyone. (My hubs can second that motion.)

  9. Check out your local city hall’s events – You would be amazed at all the events that your city throws on a monthly basis. Some might charge an admissions fee. But – it’s usually only a couple of dollars. So, dig out that change jar!

  10. Play board games at home – we’re big favorites of Bananas and Cribbage.

You don’t have to have a big entertainment budget in order to have fun with your spouse. You can have fun around the house or out in your community for free. Save that extra cash to put towards paying down debt and getting out of the hole. Once you become debt free think of all the fun things you can do! I’m personally looking forward to a nice vacation to Hawaii or Fiji!

Happy date night!
