DIY: Mosquito Relief Stick
Last week, I talked about a mosquito repellent but what if those darn bugs already attacked? Well, I created mosquito relief sticks that I carry everywhere and I can’t tell you how helpful they are with reducing the redness, itch, and swelling. I made one small batch of it and it made enough relief sticks to last me for years and enough to pass out to my family and friends too!
It instantly cools the bite and takes away the itch which is the worst part for me. I know you’ll love this DIY as much as I do during the summer months.
Here’s what you’ll need:
1 tablespoon beeswax
2 tablespoons cocoa butter
5-10 drops tea tree essential oil
5-10 drops lavender essential oil
5-15 empty chapstick tubes
Melt the beeswax in a microwave safe container. You’ll need to microwave it for about 2 minutes. Stop the microwave about every 15 to 30 seconds to stir the beeswax. Once melted, add the cocoa butter to the beeswax and melt. Add in your essential oils, stir it all up. If you have a funnel, use a funnel. I didn’t have one on me so I had to strategically balance the empty chapstick tubes on my sink and pour the mixture into it. It was a messy process. Let cool and it’ll be able to use in about an hour! This recipe made about 8 tubes! This would be a great gift to pass out during late night soccer games during the summer!
I hope that you enjoy your instant relief. I know I certainly did!
