DIY: Summer Tea Towels
I don’t know about you, but when summer hits – I just want to DIY everything. It must be something about the good weather and the hot air outside. I definitely turn into a home body in the hot Arizona sun and DIY my heart out. I had some old flour sack towels laying around and decided to jazz them up a bit to make them summery.
I rarely go out and specifically purchase things to DIY because that’s not affordable! I’m all about the affordable DIY’s with things that I already have laying around the house. So, I’m sure you have some old towels and dye laying around.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Floursack Cotton Tea Towels
Fun fabric to attach to your tea towels
Needle and thread
1. Iron out your tea towel. This helps when you're sewing on your fabric.
2. Cut fabric into strips. This will be sewn onto your tea towel for a funky flair! I decided to go with a nice plaid.
3. Sew on your the strip of fabric. I hand sewed on my strip to the towel. If you have a sewing machine, that works too!
4. Now you can enjoy your fun summer tea towels! These work great for gifts too!
