Favorite Things: July 2017

During the summer months, my creativity comes alive. It’s like it was dormant during the winter and as spring turns into summer it grows and grows and grows. During summer, I usually want to do #allthethings. So my favorite things list revolves mostly around crafting and the tools that I’m in love with as I’m exploring new passions like painting, calligraphy, and more!

Coptic Pens

I don’t know if you’ve ever used one of these pens, but they’re super fun. Not to mention they’re pretty affordable if you’re into crafting.

Wacom Tablet

This one was a gift for my birthday from my lovely mama. It’s a super handy tool for me to use when I need to draw on the computer in Illustrator or Photoshop. But, if you’re not into design – don’t worry about this one.

I’ve recently started into paining and I realized that I really do love it. I find it almost therapeutic. There’s something about the continual almost rhythmic brushstrokes that I find soothing. Here’s a couple paintings that I’ve done recently!

Painting 2

Acrylic Paint

Because I’m just getting into painting, I’m buying the cheap stuff. I don’t think it necessarily makes a difference. Because I’m not doing this for a living, just for fun, it’s ok that I’m buying the cheap stuff. Maybe once debt is paid off I can buy the expensive stuff! I’m sure it makes a difference, but right now I’m oblivious.

Paint Brushes

Similar with the paint, I use fairly decent paint brushes. I picked them up from the intermediate section from Michaels and you better believe I used a 40% off coupon for them!

A Beautiful Mess

Because it’s the summer and I love love love to craft and do anything crafty. I need to find inspiration. I usually do that through Pinterest. But, I always know that if I head over to A Beautiful Mess – I’ll find something good to DIY from there.

That’s my favorites for the month! What are you up to this summer?
